Term Limits

While I believe that hardworking MLAs deserve to be elected repeatedly, Canada needs to look at bringing in constitutional term limits for Premiers and Prime Ministers. Democracy faced challenges when leaders are unwilling to cede power and do everything they can to hold onto power for as long as possible.

I will champion constitutional changes that will disallow a Mayor, Premier, or Prime Minister from running for re-election (including as an MLA) if they have served in an top role for over 7 years. This will provide most leaders two full terms before they would have to step aside to allow new faces and new ideas the ability to flourish.
